About Me
About Me
I am a clinical social worker with over ten years of experience working with children and adults in a variety of clinical settings. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help build on their strengths and achieve the personal growth they seek.
Prior to receiving my Masters in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work, I attended Barnard College, Columbia University, for my undergraduate degree. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts as a Religion Major with a minor in Education. Upon graduation I taught in a high school in East Harlem for one year and then returned to the university to obtain my MSW.
I have worked in a number of different and rewarding fields of social work.
However, clinical psychotherapy is where I thrive. I bring to my practice a varied set of experiences that allow me to relate to diverse clientele.
An individual approach is crucial to the success of a therapeutic relationship and most effective in impacting change within a client.
I am also certified in treating PTSD using Prolonged Exposure Therapy. This training took place through The University of Pennsylvania. Prolonged Exposure is a proven and effective therapy for treating PTSD.
I can attest to the positive impact it has on those trying to reclaim their lives after a trauma.
If you are suffering with the symptoms of PTSD, I encourage you to get the assistance you need.
It can make a huge impact on your quality of life!
I am aware that finding a therapist can seem overwhelming and is personal decision.
